Can I start a team with two people? Yes, walk teams can be any size. Whether it’s just you and a neighbor or you and 100 of your closest friends, we appreciate your walking with us to support health care for families.

Northwell Health Walk at Jones Beach

When you walk in the Northwell Health Walk at Jones Beach, you help fund care for women and children through the Katz Institute for Women’s Health and Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

  • For the Katz Institute for Women’s Health, your fundraising will help fund our Innovation Grant Program, which provides seed funding to support projects in the area of women’s health, including new programs and services, education, research and other innovative endeavors, as well as a new Breast Imaging Center. On top of the best available equipment and technologies, our new center will completely reimagine the mammography experience. Mammograms and early detection saves lives, and we want every woman to have this life-saving test. To make that possible, we are introducing an unparalleled patient experience to make it feel like a relaxing day at the spa.
  • For Cohen Children’s Medical Center, your fundraising will support the purchase of the latest generation echocardiogram machine to allow our cardiologists to have the clinical data to most accurately evaluate our patients. It will also fund our Chairman’s Research Grant. Many of the most important ideas to improve the care we provide sick and injured children have been derived at the bedside through the observations of our dedicated pediatricians. The Chairman’s Research Grant not only provides an amazing opportunity for our faculty which helps us retain top talent, but will also lead to promising new treatments for the children treated at Cohens.
Northwell Health Walk at East End

Walking at our East End location raises funds for two critical priorities at Peconic Bay Medical Center: cardiac services and women’s wellness initiatives.

  • Your fundraising will help us continue building the Kanas Regional Heart Center and cardiac catheterization facility, which has provided life-saving medical procedures for critical heart conditions close to home. Since October 2017 the Kanas Regional Heart Center has seen more than 880 patients and saved more than 45 people having emergency heart attacks. We could not have treated these patients without donor support
  • Your fundraising will support our women’s wellness initiatives: a program that offers coordinated and convenient local access to screening tests, procedures and imaging technology that are critical to preventing and managing disease regardless of an individual’s ability to pay.
Northwell Health Walk at Staten Island

When you walk with us in Staten Island, you support the creation of the Gruppuso Family Women and Newborn Center at Staten Island University Hospital.

  • Your fundraising will support the Gruppuso Family Women and Newborn Center and its life-saving equipment for our sickest infants in a new state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
  • Your fundraising will support the Center’s seamless experience for mothers, babies and families through the integration of the Maternity Unit, Labor and Delivery and NICU onto a single floor and private labor and delivery rooms that will offer vastly improved comfort for patients and their families.

What if people want to give me cash?
It is safest and best for recordkeeping that your sponsors make all of their donations through our secure website using a credit card. If this is not possible, it is best for you to convert all cash received to checks or money orders. If you are unable to convert the cash, then please call your local Walk contact to arrange a time to drop the payment off at a Foundation Office.

I handed in my form with cash donations. Why aren’t all of my donors listed on the website scroll?
We are not able to list individual cash donations less than $50 on the website scroll. Only team names will appear on the scroll with the total amount raised. If you did not include your team name on your form, please call (516) 321-6333.

Only individual donations made online can be listed on the website scroll. If you would like a tax receipt for gifts of $10 or more, please send your name, address, email and gift amount to your local Walk Foundation.

Can I continue to collect donations after the Walk? Where do I send the checks?

What is a matching gift, and how do I find out if my company has this program?
